How to Use the In-Cart Coupon Field
Modern Cart includes a built-in coupon field that lets customers apply discount codes directly inside the slide-out cart — no need to navigate to the checkout page.
Enabling the Coupon Field
To enable the coupon field:
1. Go to WooCommerce > Modern Cart in your WordPress dashboard.
2. Click the General tab.
3. Find the Display Coupon Field option.
4. Choose one of the following options:
- Minimize (Default) — The coupon field is collapsed and expands when the customer clicks on it.
- Expand — The coupon field is always visible inside the cart.
- Disabled — Hides the coupon field entirely.

Customizing the Coupon Field Labels
You can change the text shown in the coupon field to match your store’s tone:
1. Go to WooCommerce > Modern Cart > Text Label tab.
2. Update the following fields:
- Coupon Field Title — The heading above the coupon input (Default: “Got a Discount Code?”).
- Coupon Placeholder — The placeholder text inside the input box (Default: “Enter discount code”).

How It Works for Customers
When a customer opens the cart, they will see the coupon field (collapsed or expanded depending on your setting). They can type their discount code and click Apply. The cart will update instantly with the discount applied.
