How to Use Canvas Mode to Visualize Your Sales Funnel

CartFlows includes Canvas Mode, a visual view of your funnel that shows every step as a card on a map, connected in the order your customers move through them. It makes it easy to see the whole funnel at a glance, spot where offers lead, and check how each step is performing.

This guide walks you through how Canvas Mode works, how to turn it on, and how to use the tools on the canvas.

How Canvas Mode Works

By default, the funnel editor shows your steps as a list. Canvas Mode shows the same steps as a connected map instead, so the path a customer takes is easy to follow.

  • Each step appears as a card with its type and name. With CartFlows Pro, the card also shows the step’s views, conversions and revenue.
  • Lines and arrows connect the steps in order, from Start to End.
  • Upsell and downsell steps show two separate paths, one for Accept and one for Reject, so you can see exactly where each choice leads.

Turning Canvas Mode on or off doesn’t change your funnel. It only changes how the steps are shown in the editor.

How to Turn On Canvas Mode

Step 1. From the WordPress admin, go to CartFlows → Funnels and open the funnel you want to view.

Step 2. At the top right of the funnel editor, click the Canvas Mode toggle to turn it on.

Your funnel now appears as a map. CartFlows remembers your choice in this browser, so Canvas Mode stays on the next time you open a funnel. To go back to the list view, click the toggle again.

Reading the Step Cards

Each card gives you a quick summary of one step in your funnel.

  • Views, Conversions and Revenue show how the step is performing. These stats are part of CartFlows Pro.
  • Order Bumps appear on checkout cards, with the number of order bumps on that step.
  • Accept and Reject labels on upsell and downsell cards show where the customer goes after each choice.
  • The + (add a step) button on a connecting line adds a new step at that point in the funnel.

The icons along the bottom of each card let you work with that step without leaving the canvas:

  • View Page and Edit Page open the step as your customers see it, or in your page builder.
  • Edit Settings opens the step’s settings in the funnel editor.
  • Automation opens the funnel automations screen, where you can connect funnel events to other apps with OttoKit.
  • Duplicate creates a copy of the step, and A/B Test starts a split test for it. Both are CartFlows Pro features.
  • Delete removes the step from the funnel.

To learn more about editing steps, see How to Edit and Customise Funnel Steps. For setting up offers and their Accept and Reject paths, see How to Create One-Click Upsell and Downsell Offers in CartFlows.

Using the Canvas Tools

The canvas includes a few tools to help you move around and arrange your funnel.

  • Zoom controls: Use + and − at the bottom left to zoom in and out, or click Fit to show the whole funnel on the screen. You can also drag the canvas to move around.
  • Vertical and Horizontal Layout: Show the funnel from top to bottom or from left to right.
  • Edge Style: Switch the connecting lines between smooth and wavy curves.
  • Tidy Layout: Line up the cards neatly when they look scattered.
  • Full Screen: Hide the WordPress menus and give the canvas the whole screen. Press Esc to exit.
  • Minimap: The small map at the bottom right shows where you are in a large funnel.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Click the keyboard icon in the canvas tools, or press Ctrl + /, to see all the shortcuts. A few handy ones:

  • F fits the whole funnel on the screen.
  • V switches between vertical and horizontal layout.
  • M shows or hides the minimap.
  • C switches between compact and detailed cards.
