Widget Placement Options for Frequently Bought Together
The Frequently Bought Together section doesn’t have to sit in one fixed spot. You can choose where it appears on the product page, and you can choose a different spot for each product.
This guide covers the four available placements, how to change them, and how to pick the one that suits your store.
How It Works
Placement is a per-product setting. It lives alongside the rest of the Frequently Bought Together options, so you can position the section wherever it works best for that particular product.
- Four placements are available, all on the single product page.
- The setting applies to one product at a time.
- Changing it moves the section without changing anything about how it behaves.
Your theme controls how a product page is laid out, so the exact spot each option lands in follows your theme’s own structure.
Changing the Placement
Step 1. Go to Products and open the product you want to change.
Step 2. Scroll to the Product data box and click the Frequently Bought Together tab.
Step 3. Find Widget placement at the bottom of the panel and pick the spot you want.

Step 4. Click Update, then open the product page to see the result.
The Four Placements
Each option puts the section in a different part of the product page.
- After Add-to-Cart button – directly beneath the Add to Cart button. This is the default.
- Below title – high up in the product summary, right after the product name.
- Below price – in the product summary, after the price.
- Below summary – underneath the whole summary column, further down the page.
After Add-to-Cart button
The section sits immediately under the Add to Cart button, so shoppers meet it at the exact moment they’re deciding to buy. This is the default and the one most stores keep.

Below title and Below price
Both of these put the section up in the summary area, above the product description. Shoppers see the suggestions without scrolling, which suits products where the add-ons matter as much as the main item.
The trade-off is that the section pushes the Add to Cart button further down the page.

Below summary
The section moves out of the summary column and sits lower down the page, near the description. Shoppers reach it after they’ve read through the product details, so it feels less like an interruption.

How Your Theme Affects the Result
Themes build product pages in different ways, so the same option can land in slightly different spots from one theme to the next.
Two things are worth knowing:
- On some themes, Below title and Below price land in the same place, because the theme shows the title and price together as one block.
- On themes that arrange the summary their own way, CartFlows adjusts to match, so the section still lands where the option describes rather than at the bottom of everything.
The reliable approach is to pick an option, save, and view the product page. Switching to a different option takes only a moment if the first one isn’t right.
Choosing the Right Spot
There’s no single best answer, so it’s worth thinking about the product.
- Pick After Add-to-Cart button when the add-ons are a natural extra at the point of purchase, such as accessories or refills.
- Pick Below title or Below price when the companions are part of the decision itself, such as a starter kit or a matching set.
- Pick Below summary for higher-priced products where shoppers read the details first and you’d rather not crowd the Add to Cart button.
You can mix these across your catalog. Nothing forces the whole store to use the same spot.
