How to Auto-Apply a Coupon When an Order Bump Is Accepted
CartFlows Pro lets you link a WooCommerce coupon directly to an order bump, so accepting the bump doesn’t just add a product to the order, it also applies a discount automatically. There’s no code to enter and no separate step for the customer, the coupon applies itself the moment the bump is accepted.
This guide walks you through how the coupon auto-apply works, how to set it up on an order bump, and what your customers see at checkout.
How Coupon Auto-Apply Works
When an order bump is linked to a coupon, checking the bump’s box does two things at once: it adds the bump product to the order, and it applies the linked coupon to the cart, all without a page reload.
- If the customer leaves the bump unchecked, checkout works exactly as normal and no coupon is applied.
- If the customer checks the bump, the bump product is added and the linked coupon is applied instantly, with the order total updating right away.
- If the customer changes their mind and unchecks the bump, both the bump product and its coupon are removed together, and the total updates again.
Only the coupon tied to that specific bump is affected, any other coupon your customer applied separately is left untouched.
How to Set Up Coupon Auto-Apply
Step 1. From the WordPress admin, go to CartFlows → Funnels and open the funnel that contains the checkout step you want to update.
Step 2. Click the checkout step settings (cog icon) to open its settings.
Step 3. In the left sidebar, click Order Bumps, then open the order bump you want to configure (or create a new one).
Step 4. Find the product row for your order bump (or, if you’re using AI Auto mode, the product inside the Product Pool you want to add a coupon to).
Step 5. Set Discount Type to Coupon.

Step 6. In the field that appears, search for and select the WooCommerce coupon you want applied when this bump is accepted.

Step 7. Click Save Settings at the top right.
Coupon auto-apply is now active on that order bump.
Choosing Coupon as the Discount Type replaces any Percentage or Price discount previously set for that bump, only one discount method applies per bump at a time.
The Coupon Auto-Apply in Action
Before the customer accepts the order bump, checkout totals look like normal, no coupon applied yet.

As soon as the customer checks the box, the order bump product is added and the linked coupon is applied in the same instant, no reload, and no separate coupon field for the customer to fill in.

If the customer unchecks the bump afterward, the bump product and its coupon are both removed together and the total updates to match.
