Instant Checkout vs. Instant Layout
CartFlows has two features with similar names, Instant Checkout and Instant Layout. They sit next to each other in your funnel settings and each one does its own job. This guide explains what each one does, so you can use the right one for your store.
The Short Answer
- Instant Layout changes how your funnel’s pages look. It swaps your checkout, upsell, downsell and thank you pages for a clean, ready-made design, with no page builder needed.
- Instant Checkout changes where shoppers buy. It adds a Buy Now button to your product pages that opens a checkout popup, so shoppers can pay without leaving the product page.
In short, Instant Layout is a page design, and Instant Checkout is a popup checkout on the product page.

Instant Checkout at a Glance
Instant Checkout lets shoppers buy straight from the product page. A Buy Now button appears next to Add to Cart, and clicking it opens the checkout, order bumps included, in a popup.
- Where it applies: your product pages.
- Where to turn it on: your funnel’s settings, on the Instant Checkout tab, with the Enable Instant Checkout toggle.
- How to style it: from the Design section on the same tab, which covers the popup layout, button text, logo, colors and text size.
- Plan: a CartFlows Pro feature.

To learn more, see CartFlows Instant Checkout.
Side by Side
- What it changes — Instant Layout: the design of your funnel pages. Instant Checkout: how shoppers reach checkout from a product page.
- What shoppers see — Instant Layout: a full checkout page in a clean layout. Instant Checkout: a popup over the product page.
- Where it’s styled — Instant Layout: each step’s Design tab. Instant Checkout: the Instant Checkout tab in funnel settings.
- Plan — Instant Layout: free for Checkout and Thank You pages, and Pro for Upsell and Downsell pages. Instant Checkout: Pro.
Using Both Together
The two features work independently, so you can turn on one, the other, or both in the same funnel.
With both on, shoppers who click Add to Cart and go through your funnel see the Instant Layout pages. Shoppers who click Buy Now get the Instant Checkout popup, which has its own design from the Instant Checkout tab. After payment, both routes continue to the same upsell, downsell and thank you steps.
